How to record a demo that edits well
- Close other windows and notifications before you start.
- Show one task from start to finish, such as creating an invoice. One take of 2 to 5 minutes is plenty.
- Move the mouse slowly. The zooms follow your cursor.
- Don't rush. Pauses are cut out later, so take your time.
- For Reels and Shorts, aim for a finished cut under 60 seconds.
- Use real-looking sample data, never a real customer's details.
Why vertical and square cuts matter
Most people watch social video on a phone held upright. Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts use a 9:16 vertical frame, so a landscape demo shows up small. AutoPolish exports a version for each frame from the same recording, so you don't have to edit three times.
